Happy New Year and Welcome to a New Year for the Edmonton Pickleball Club!
2020 is now in the rear view mirror and while it had many challenges, we worked through them thanks to the support of our members.
Now, with a new 2021 season before us, we have a new beginning with an optimistic outlook for a return to more normal play.
I would like to update you on the 2021 Board of Directors and their roles for 2021.
I am Mike Gray, a 2nd year EPC board member, and I am pleased to serve as President in 2021.
Richard Van Soest is entering his 3rd year as a board member and he will be Vice President. Richard will also serve as the Facility and Equipment Manager.
Adele Thomson is entering her 3rd year and she will act as Secretary/Treasurer.
Helen Thomson has been a board member for 3 years and is returning as Director at Large where she will be assisting with the transition of the new board and new members.
Don Law is a second year board member and Don is in charge of New Site Development and Liaison with the City of Edmonton.
Pat Martin is a new member and her portfolio is Player Development including Ratings Chair, Player Development Clinics and Referee Training.
Anne Ingledew is a new board member and her portfolio is Communications and keeping members up to date on a regular basis with rule changes and clarifications and other Pickleball news.
In preparation for the 2021 season, we will be sending out a questionnaire to find out about your expectations from the club. Watch for the email coming out in early January and please take the time to fill it out. Your responses will help us build the kinds of courts schedules which you want.
Registration for 2021 is now open on our club website. Renewal Notices will be sent out in the coming days.
The fee remains at $75 which again includes registration for Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Alberta.
Thank you for your continued support of our Edmonton Pickleball Club and we will continue to update you on a regular basis.
Happy New Year,
