Newsletter of June 4, 2020 4030-117 Street, NW, Edmonton, AB T6J 2W5 June 4, 2020 Hello EPC Members. The sun is shining, the grass is greening, the courts are open, and in many ways, it seems like we are back to normal. Except that we are not. The Covid-19 virus is still with us and we are all still vulnerable. That is just the way it is…. EPC has worked hard to bring pickleball back, albeit in a singles format, and with various protocols designed to keep you as safe as possible. A few of the measures necessary to keep everyone safe and healthy are:
We know other jurisdictions may have a variety of other rules but what we have put in place for you now is in the best interests of all and it truly is the best we can do for you for now. Please work with us. We want you all to enjoy Pickleball but, more than that, we want you to stay healthy while we continue to live in a pandemic. The Jasper Park courts (8751-153 Street) will open on Monday, June 8. For those playing at the 3.0 skill level, we have added 9 playing sessions to accommodate another 72 - 3.0 players per week. If it turns out that these extra slots cannot meet the 3.0 demands for playing time, we will consider other measures. You will receive 2 SUG invitations on June 7 between 8:00 and 8:15 PM, one for Royal Gardens and the other for Jasper Park. Please review both invitations and sign up as you wish. The Jasper Park playing schedule is attached to this email. Respectfully, Ran Newby.Edmonton
