Hello Everyone,

Please welcome Kareem Hamdon, our summer student, as he joins us on Tuesday, May 22.  Kareem’s first assignment will be to set up all our Round Robins on Sign Up Genius.  I will keep you posted on our progress and give you detailed information on how to use Sign Up Genius.  You’re going to love it!  Stay tuned, it won’t be long now.

And speaking of Round Robins

To really enjoy Round Robins, please arrive about 15 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled Round Robin.  Arrive early to set up your chair, get organized, sign in on the Sign Up Sheets (to get your player number in the Round Robin), clean off the bottom of your court shoes on our new Boot Scrapers and enter the courts to warm up for the start of play.

Prior to the start of play, identify someone in your group to serve as Round Robin Captain for that day. The Round Robin Captain just maintains order on the courts for that Round Robin. He or she gets the Round Robin Box from the On Court Storage Unit, has the players sign in on the laminated sign-up sheets, posts on the fencing the draw sheet for the commensurate number of players in that Round Robin and then starts play for the group.

There are two Round Robin Boxes in our On Court Storage Unit.  Each Round Robin Box contains the laminated Sign Up Sheets, dry ease pens, clips, and draw sheets.  When your Round Robin is completed, please return all the materials to the Round Robin Box and then store it in the On Court Storage Unit for use by the next group.

Please do not come late and expect to easily join your Round Robin which is already underway.  Latecomers, even when unavoidable, can be disruptive and interrupt the flow of play.  Try not to be “the one….”

Court Schedule Changes

We are monitoring court usage to see if we need to make changes to the current court schedule.  If there are some sessions that are not well attended, we may need to make adjustments to the schedule.  Any changes we make, however, will not be implemented until after the Battle of the Paddle Tournament.

New Equipment

We have purchased court drying equipment and we have purchased the Pickleball Tutor machine.  We are planning “How to Use the Tutor” sessions and the Tutor (and Kareem) will be available for you in a week or so.

Roxanne Garneau and Nicole Carter have stepped up to ensure that Westridge Wolf Willow Country Club Pickleball continues to thrive.  Ran Newby, Bruce Wiber, Wendy Schilling and Al Schilling have also very generously given their time and talents to teach Westridge beginner and intermediate sessions.

Have a nice weekend,
